Terms of Service
The rules for using Wicker, written to be read. If anything here is unclear, email us at support@usewicker.com and we’ll explain it plainly.
1. What Wicker is
Wicker is a software service that lets sellers create payment links and get paid online. When a buyer pays through a Wicker link, the payment is processed by Paystack, a third-party payment processor. The seller’s share of each payment settles directly to the seller’s own mobile money account. Wicker provides the software; it does not hold seller funds and does not provide banking services.
2. Who can use Wicker
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- You must provide accurate information — your real name, a working phone number, and a mobile money account registered in your name.
- Sellers must be based in Ghana and sell in Ghana cedis (GHS).
3. Sellers are responsible for what they sell
Wicker moves the payment; the seller owns the sale. As a seller you are responsible for describing your products honestly, delivering what the buyer paid for, and complying with Ghanaian law. Buyers’ contracts for goods and services are with the seller, not with Wicker.
4. Acceptable use
You may not use Wicker to sell or collect payment for:
- anything illegal under the laws of Ghana;
- counterfeit or stolen goods;
- drugs, weapons, or other controlled items;
- fraudulent schemes, fake investments, or deceptive offers;
- anything you misrepresent to buyers.
We may refuse, suspend, or close any account that we reasonably believe breaks these rules, and we may report unlawful activity to the relevant authorities.
5. Fees
Wicker charges sellers 1.5% per successful transaction, capped at GHS 5.00. Paystack’s processing fees and applicable statutory levies also apply. Current fees, with worked examples, are always published on our pricing page. We will give reasonable notice before changing our fees.
6. Payments and settlement
Payments are processed by Paystack. Settlement of the seller’s share goes directly to the seller’s mobile money account on Paystack’s settlement schedule. Fees are deducted automatically at payment time.Wicker is not responsible for delays caused by the payment processor, mobile network operators, or incorrect account details supplied by the seller.
7. Refunds and disputes
Our refunds & disputes policy is part of these terms. In short: buyers should contact the seller first; if that fails,Wicker mediates payment disputes and can process refunds through Paystack where appropriate.
8. Suspension and termination
You can stop using Wicker at any time. We may suspend or terminate an account for breach of these terms, suspected fraud, or where required by law. Where possible we will tell you why.
9. Liability
Wicker is provided “as is.” We work hard to keep the service reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. To the maximum extent permitted by Ghanaian law, Wicker’s total liability to you for any claim is limited to the Wicker fees you paid us in the three months before the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for disputes between buyers and sellers beyond the mediation described in our refunds policy.
10. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will post the updated version here and update the date at the top. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the new terms.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ghana, and any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Ghana.
